While preparing to host the 2009 Peewee Provincials the North Shore Girls Avalance Hockey Team decided it would be nice to fundraise for a BC charity as part of their hosting duties.
After deciding to support Canuck Place they set about holding garage sales, bake sales and enlisted the help of their families in hosting a pub night. The team really showed their dedication to the cause as they took turns collecting donations outdoors during the cold winter months. The Avalanche girls didn't stop their efforts once the tournament started and had the help of the players and their families from across the province to help with 50/50 draws, a silent auction and food and beverage sales.
Thank you so much to the Avalance girls whose determination raised over $1,800 for Canuck Place and congratulations on your gold medal!!
