Every line has meaning, and every colour has been chosen with purpose

Pale green is the main colour for Canuck Place,and is synonymous with budding life.  It correlates to the heart energy of LOVE / COMPASSION.

Mauve (light purple) is the secondary colour, as seen in heather/violet/lilacs  It correlates to the spiritual energy of DIVINE RENEWAL.  Purple is also the official colour of Palliative care. 

 The blue has been chosen to acknowledge our ties with our wonderful Vancouver Canucks.   Blue speaks to a higher purpose, with the attributes of PEACE/ DEPENDABILITY and TRUST.

 The Tartan design features three lines of blue spaced with another three blue lines and intersected by three additional blue lines.  The lines are representative of:  MOMS / DADS / SIBLINGS (Families) and CLINICAL/ VOLUNTEERS / SUPPORT STAFF (all of us who devote time); while the three intersecting lines represent:  BODY / MIND/ SPIRIT – the unifying factor and our focus.

The white ‘lines’ located within the center of the blue lines represents the reason we are all involved… our bright sparks… OUR CHILDREN, who light up our lives and all too quickly leave... always remembered by the glow of lighting a white candle.

Flanking all this from above, below and in between is a  mixed line incorporating magenta & yellow/gold.   The  magenta represents the mixing of red & violet meaning basic needs combined with higher purpose... the colour of PHILANTHROPY, whether private or corporate, a gift in kind, an event, a school or service contribution, the generosity of the Canucks for Kids Fund, or the government funding we receive.  It represents OUR DONORS.

 The inner colour of yellow/gold stands for COMMUNICATION / ACTION/ WISDOM and represents the direction given by our dedicated BOARD of DIRECTORS of both the Foundation & the Hospice.  When placed together this blended combination of magenta/ yellow-gold makes everything we do at Canuck Place possible.

The Canuck Place Tartan, is both unique in design and specific colour groupings and is representative of the very best values that life has to offer, just as Canuck Place Children’s Hopsice is synonymous with the very best in palliative care.

Wear the Tartan with pride knowing you are among the valuable threads woven into the weave and that without you it would not look the same.
