Canuck Place Accredited
Following an intensive 3-day onsite visit by Accreditation Canada surveyors, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice was granted “Accreditation with Condition” status.
Canuck Place met an astounding 97% of all 512 standards and met all but two of the 28 Required Organizational Standards (ROP) necessary for full “Accreditation” status.
The Accreditation Canada surveyors commented on the unique program, strength of the inter-disciplinary team, and input by families including the strong voice led by the Family Advisory Council.
Canuck Place is proud of our achievement and the recognition bestowed by Accreditation Canada.
Over the next few months, Canuck Place will be working to complete the last two standards to achieve full Accreditation status.
In 2006, Canuck Place was accredited as one of ten palliative care organizations and one of two pediatric programs, in the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation’s (CCHSA) Hospice Palliative & End-of-Life Care Pilot Study. The CCHSA was renamed Accreditation Canada in 2008.
