Canuck Place Celebrates National Volunteer Week

“Volunteers, from compassion to action” is this year’s theme for National Volunteer Week - April 18th - 24th. Canuck Place volunteers and their “actions” provide positive contributions everyday, and this dedication, hard work and commitment is the backbone of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

National Volunteer Week is a special time set aside in April each year to honour and recognize Canadians who donate time and energy to their community.

Volunteers strengthen our community here at the Hospice

The reality is that we could not do this work without volunteers. They serve on boards and committees, provide companionship to the children and families, beautify our gardens and building, welcome visitors at reception, prepare comfort food,  assist in fundraising and special events, drive our bus ”Betsy” on outings, assist the Finance Staff, and other tasks too many to mention.  View Volunteer Roles

Volunteers do the work that they do because they believe in the cause. They, quite simply, aspire to make life better for others, and in our case, for the children and families of Canuck Place.

On behalf of all of us at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice – THANK YOU for your energy, generosity of time and spirit, and ultimately your “compassion” for the children living with life threatening illnesses and their families.
