Corporate Days of Service
Looking for a fun way to strengthen communication and rapport among your team while giving back to the community?
The Canuck Place Corporate Day of Service Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for our corporate partners to engage their staff in hands-on projects at the hospice grounds, at fundraising events and some select opportunities with our children and families.
Canuck Place will work together with your team to identify a volunteer project that will have the biggest impact on both of our organizations. Working side by side, your team will execute their project and make a difference for our children and families. Our goal is to ensure that everyone benefits.

People like to give, and no where is that more apparent than when a company and its employees unite for a common cause. The Canuck Place Employee Giving Program, provides company leaders with a compelling and inspirational story to share with their employees.
To assist planning efforts, comprehensive employer and employee packages are provided and Canuck Place staff are available to make on-site presentations.
Employee giving provides staff an avenue to take ownership of a philanthropic initiative. It provides the chance to relish in the feeling of making a difference while giving a company the opportunity to demonstrate corporate social responsibility. This has become increasingly important to the work force and provides a positive story to tell customers. Having a local angle to help the community where you live is of considerable value as is choosing a charity that serves a demographic population that the employee base can relate to.
Personal and corporate pride can only lead to more committed employees and business success.
Matching Gift Program
You may be able to double your donation just by asking your employer!
Many employers will match the donations made by current and past employees – some companies even contribute more! Fill in the form according to your company’s policies, return it to the appropriate division and forward your donation to Canuck Place.
A cause-marketing partnership with Canuck Place provides meaningful opportunities to align your company with BC’s recognized pediatric palliative care provider and demonstrates a culture of caring in your business or organization.
Cause-related marketing with Canuck Place builds a positive image for your organization while helping Canuck Place gain new sources of funding and increased awareness. It is as simple for you as conducting a sales promotion, or to arrange or sponsor a sale, performance or event!

The great thing about Cause Marketing is, with minimal effort, the return in both sales and branding can be big! Spread the word about your promotion (and we will too!) and watch your customer base expand, and become more engaged with your business.
How Does It Work?
Choose an event, product or service to promote and then donate full or partial proceeds from it for a limited time (or longer!). We will work with you to determine the percentage of proceeds to donate as well as the length of time the promotion should last. We can also help you conceptualize the campaign, or leave it in your capable hands – it’s all about what works best for you!
Some Typical Models of Cause Marketing:
The sky’s the limit when it comes to designing an effective Cause Marketing Promotion, and we are happy to get creative and work with you to create something that best fits your business. As a starting point, here are some of the models we have found effective:
- Food & Beverage establishments can donate a percentage of sales of a specific menu item for a limited time. (This can be an item you already offer, or we can help you launch a new product!)
- Restaurants can create a special feature menu with a flat amount going to Canuck Place each time the feature item is ordered.
- Hotels can dedicate a Room or Room Type for a period of time to Canuck Place
- Retailers can “dedicate” an item and donate a percentage of proceeds for every unit of that item sold
- Event-organizers can donate a percentage of ticket sales of a certain event; or they can donate per “mention” of event on social media
- High-volume retailers can place donation tins at their checkout and encourage customers to learn more about Canuck Place!
