Dr. Steve Kline
Steve Kline is a practicing psychiatrist at St. Paul’s Hospital. He has had a lengthy involvement in social policy and legislation, and an equally long involvement in providing services to disadvantaged and medically ill psychiatric populations.
He has spent 45 years teaching medical students and residents and is currently a Clinical Professor in the department of psychiatry at UBC. He participated widely in postgraduate accreditation across Canada on behalf of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He graduated in medicine from the University of Alberta and completed his residency at University of Toronto. He later trained in psychoanalysis and took a postgraduate degree in business administration.
His administrative positions have included clinical director at Toronto Western Hospital, head of psychiatry at St. Paul’s Hospital, and medical director at Vancouver Richmond Health Authority and then Vancouver Island Health Authority.
