Kris Gustavson is the Corporate Director of Accreditation and Patient Experience with the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) where she is responsible for supporting activities related to quality, safety, and accreditation at agencies operating under the PHSA including: British Columbia Children’s Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children.
As a Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing, Kris applies her more than 25 years of expertise in clinical practice, research, management, and administration to adult and pediatric settings. She is a site reviewer/surveyor for the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia and a sought after presenter at international and national conferences on health care quality, experience measurement, partnership, and mentorship.
In addition to serving on the Canuck Place Board, which she joined in March 2013, Kris was appointed by Government to the Board of the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, is a surveyor with Accreditation Canada (National & International) and the Chair of the Surveyor Advisory Committee.
She has been awarded many scholarships and awards – most recently completing the Fellowship – International Society for Healthcare Quality, and a highlight according to Kris – receiving the 2009 ‘honour roll’ award of distinguished service to Little League BC, for her work with the special needs Challenger Baseball Division. Kris lives with her husband and three sons in Vancouver.
