Chris Gailus of Global BC is a great friend of Canuck Place. Every year he takes to the start line at the Canuck Place Adventure Race, often bringing family members along for the event.
Chris has been a long-time supporter of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, in addition to competing in the Adventure Race for several years, this October he will once again emcee the Canuck Place Gift of Time Gala.
“Canuck Place helps children and families through the most debilitating and emotionally challenging times,” says Chris. “I am constantly amazed by the unending love and compassion shown to the children facing end-of-life care and their families. I feel I should do whatever I can to allow them to continue doing their great work!”
Returning to the Adventure Race each September is an easy call for Chris.
“Knowing I’m helping raise money for such an amazing facility and all the amazing people who work there is first and foremost,” he says. “But it’s also a really fun physical challenge that keeps me motivated to stay active through the summer!”
For Chris, having an adventurous heart is all about emotional and spiritual growth through experiences.
“To me that means being open to experiences and feelings that might be uncomfortable at first, but that are very gratifying in the end,” he says. “I’m very thankful that I can live those experiences while also helping Canuck Place and the families who rely on it for love and comfort at the time of their greatest need.”
Thanks Chris for always choosing to stand in support of children and families at Canuck Place.
