Updates

Recruiting will stop in May 2022 and analysis will start afterwards. As of March 2022, 208 participants are enrolled.

This research study is part of a global initiative to investigate the experiences of pregnant and postpartum women, and their partners, experiencing stillbirth and neonatal death – both prior to, and during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The results will inform strategies to improve care for women and their families during their loss experiences, including during a pandemic. We regard the Canadian study findings as forming a foundation for the development of provincial and federal standards for bereavement care which currently do not exist, as well as guidelines from the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Canada. The findings about effects of the pandemic can provide guidance to care providers and families in times of social isolation, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our research is being conducted via online surveys.
