Canuck Place Adventure Racers shine on Jericho Beach

September 8, 2014

VANCOUVER, BC – September 8, 2014 – Canuck Place Children’s Hospice hosted the Canuck Place Adventure Race on Sunday, September 7 at Jericho Beach. Over 140 participants kayaked, cycled and ran around the waters and trails of Jericho and helped raise over $130,000 for the children and families of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

Over 40 children participated including two children on the Canuck Place program who raced on an adaptive course with specialized duet bikes and trail runners.

“The opportunity to ride on the trails around Jericho with Griffin was something truly remarkable,” said Alysone Martel, Canuck Place Mom. “To be out on the trails with the other children participating in the Adventure Race is something we would never have dreamed of until today. Thanks to the help from Canuck Place and their team of recreation therapists, it became a reality for Griffin. The smile on his face is says it all.”
