Each year, as part of their term three “What’s the Big Idea?” course, Vancouver Film School Digital Design students work with a non-profit organization on a project all the way from client brief to final delivery. It’s a valuable class, teaching students to work with clients, and often within strict brand and content guidelines.
This year, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice was lucky enough to work with these talented students. At the start of their semester, students were briefed on the background of Canuck Place, and provided the material and informationrequired to complete their projects. We asked them to create a website for our Gift of Love Gala, and a motion video to educate potential donors and supporters about Canuck Place.
After working hard all semester, each group presented their final projects to our communications team. Not all finished products from the teams end up being used by the selected organizations, but we were so pleased with the work they did, we decided to put it to work for us!
Our Gift of Love microsite was based off the design created by Blue Lobster.
We also used three video projects.
