We depend on many volunteers who give so generously of their time and expertise every day of the year.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Canuck Place is currently recruiting:
Volunteer Drivers provide support to the Recreation Therapy Program and enable children and families to be transported to outings and to activities.
They drive the Canuck Place bus – a 26 foot bus with capacity for a combination of eight wheelchairs or 18 passengers.
Regular outings are scheduled for Monday and Thursday afternoons and Tuesday evenings. Volunteers are welcome to join in the fun!
Volunteer Drivers must possess a Class 4 Unrestricted License to be considered for an interview.
Abbotsford Administration Volunteer
The purpose of the Abbotsford Administration Volunteer is to assist the staff with reception and administration duties for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice at Dave Lede House.
One four hours shift per week. Shifts are Monday-Friday 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm. Every second Tuesday or Thursday, 5pm-9pm. Minimum one year commitment to the role.
Abbotsford Administration volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
Each week, approximately 85 volunteers work at the Hospice, providing a wide range of assistance. Their contributions are immense, and without them Canuck Place would not operate the way it does.
The work performed by our volunteers allows Canuck Place to maximize the revenues it can put into clinical care and other front-line services that directly benefit our children and families.
