In-Person Event Questions
Q: What is the date of the event?
A: Saturday, October 30th, 2021
Q: What time does the in-person event begin?
A: Doors open at 5:30pm and our formal program begins at 7:30pm.
Q: How much is a Gift of Time ticket?
A: The single ticket price is $500. A table of 10 is $5,000. Please click here to purchase tickets.
Q: I have a dietary restriction or allergy, who do I need to provide this information to and by when?
A: We are happy to accommodate your dietary restrictions and allergies. Please indicate any dietary restrictions on the guest details form or send them via email to Maxine Compean by Friday, October 1.
Q: Where is the event taking place?
A: The Gift of Time Live Event will take place in the Grand Ballroom on the conference level (4th floor) at Parq Vancouver at 39 Smithe St in Vancouver, BC.
Event Venue Questions
Q: Where do I park my vehicle at Parq?
A: At this time, guests must self-park as valet service is temporarily unavailable.
Parq Vancouver’s underground self-parking garage is located directly beneath the Resort. From Pacific Boulevard heading North, past Nelson Street, it can be accessed by turning left onto Smithe Street. Heading South on Expo Boulevard, there is an entry ramp accessible from the left lane prior to the Smithe Street intersection. Please note that the Smithe Street access, from Pacific Boulevard, may intermittently be closed to the public or subject to restricted access, as there is a Canucks game on October 30 at Rogers Arena. Once parked, proceed to the JW Marriott lobby.
Keep an eye out for Gift of Time signs in the parking lot that will point you in the right direction!
Q: Can I book a room at the Parq to stay overnight?
A: Yes! The JW Marriott has generously offered Gift of Time guests a discounted rate of $269+taxes valid on Saturday, October 30 only. To book your stay, please click here. This rate is valid until October 1, but don’t delay! There are a limited number of rooms available.

How can I make a donation?
Q: How do I make a donation to Canuck Place through Gift of Time?
A: Gift of Time has a number of initiatives through which crucial funds are raised to support children and families across BC.
Many of these initiatives have been championed by philanthropic groups in our community who came together with a common goal: to make a difference. These include mothers, healthcare workers, lawyers, and women in real estate.

All gifts are eligible for a tax receipt and donations of $1,000+ will receive the following:
- Acknowledgement under Friends of Gift of Time, Healthcare Heroes for Canuck Place, Mothers for Canuck Place, or Lawyers for Canuck Place in the Gift of Time gala program (print and digital)
- Recognition on a digital slide during the Gift of Time Gala
- Recognition in post-event thank you newspaper ad
Q: When will the Silent Auction open?
A: The Gift of Time Silent Auction will launch on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021.
Q: How do I access the Gift of Time Silent Auction?
A: The auction link will be provided to registered Gift of Time guests on October 20.
Q: I’ve won a Silent Auction item! Where and when do I pick it up?
A: Congratulations! There are three ways you can collect your auction item:
- If you attended the Live Event you may pick up your Silent Auction item on-site at the conclusion of the event.
- You can pick it up at the Canuck Place Development Office located at #207 – 3077 Granville St. in Vancouver. Pick up will be available Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
- You may opt to have it delivered (Lower Mainland only).
Please coordinate with Victoria for pick up or delivery of your item(s).
Q: I have questions about Live Auction items. Who can I speak to?

Q: What are you doing to ensure everyone’s safety at Gift of Time?
A: At Canuck Place we care for some of the most seriously ill children in our province and their families. Infection control and robust health and safety protocols are paramount in providing this care.
- As per the current Provincial Health Order, all guests, staff, and volunteers attending Gift of Time must be fully vaccinated and will need to show proof of vaccination prior to entry.
- Guests will be asked to complete a self-assessment health check within 24 hours of the event in order to be eligible to attend. Those who are feeling unwell will be granted access to our Gift of Time Virtual Event so they can safely enjoy the gala from the comfort of their home.
- Guests must be registered in advance for contact tracing purposes. No guest changes will be permitted on the day of the event.
- In additional to our own initiatives, the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver follows their own rigid COVID safety protocols.
Q: Will I be required to wear a mask during the event?
A: We will carefully observe and adhere to the health guidelines recommended by the BC Public Health Office at the time of the event.
At this time, guests will be required to wear masks throughout the public areas of the hotel and when not seated at their table. Parq staff as well as Canuck Place staff and volunteers will be required to be fully vaccinated and wear a mask at Gift of Time to ensure your safety and comfort.
Q: Will there be social distancing encouraged at the event?
A: Based on the BC Public Health Office recommendations and event guidelines, there will be proper social distancing measures in place.
Q: Will you be utilizing rapid testing?
A: No, Gift of Time guests will not be asked to submit to rapid COVID-19 testing.
Q: Will you issue a refund if I am unable to attend the Gift of Time In-Person Event due to illness?
A: Any guest that is exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 and/or the mandatory health check deems they should not attend the Live Event will be granted access to the Gift of Time Virtual Event. Your ticket purchase will also become eligible for a full tax receipt. Please contact Courtenay Cardinal with any questions or concerns.
